So soldiers in Königsbrück were allowed to leave the military area for spare time? Or was it more for officers, their families and civil staff? As for what we experienced here in Dresden, soldiers were only allowed to leave the military areas on official order or in groups for arranged trips to the inner city, for maybe one or two times throughout their service. Well, maybe it was different from garnison to garnison.
About leaving the military area for spare time. You are right: it was only for officers, their families and civil staff possible. If a soldier left the military area itself (in Russian it is called SAMOVOLKA), it is a criminal offense :angry:
